Who We Are

Josh is a multi-skilled, well-rounded media producer who has seen it all. NFL sidelines. Daily news coverage. Investigative and long-form journalism. If you have an idea, it’s in Josh’s wheelhouse. Let’s talk about how to get that wheel spinning.

Meet Josh

Josh Rogers

Born in Pittsburgh, PA, I lived in Virginia, New Jersey and Virginia again before my family eventually moved back to the Pittsburgh suburbs, where I started and finished high school. The different ways of life and multitude of people I met as a kid greatly influenced my curiosity in the world.

When I graduated high school in 2014, I already knew I wanted to be involved in video production. I had volunteered with the high school’s closed-circuit television station, called “PRTV”, doing play-by-play for football and basketball games, operating cameras and directing shows, and simply loved it. The adrenaline and need to make decisions in the moment had me hooked.

In college, I ended up transferring from the University of Missouri to Ohio University, where I gained live TV experience at WOUB-TV, the on-campus PBS station. This is where I first shot a football game while working for the award-winning show “Gridiron Glory”, a moment that would prove seminal for me. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism, I furthered my education by going to my parents' alma mater, the University of Maryland, where I graduated with a Master of Journalism with a specialization in sports.

A mentor in school helped me land my first job at WCTI in New Bern, NC, which began a whirlwind three years in which I lived in five cities. I worked in front of and behind the camera, capturing daily news through my lens and reporting on it on live television. I stood on the Charleston, SC, battery as massive waves crashed over the seawall and slapped my face, leaving my cheeks stinging. I covered regional and national court cases. I investigated local authorities in Shreveport, LA, bringing light to their missteps and voice to the people who needed one. And most importantly, I learned everything I could about each place I lived so I could truly talk to and connect with people and understand what they could contribute to every story I produced. I earned multiple awards for my work, carving out my space as someone who got people to be comfortable on camera and capturing each story in its own innovative, unique way.

The fifth and final city on my journey was Minneapolis, where I landed in 2019. I moved here to shoot and edit sports for KARE11, realizing my dream from way back in high school. I learned to love the sidelines (and bowels) of almost every stadium in the NFL, as well as many arenas in the NHL, NBA and other local arenas and stadiums. This is also how I met Scott – in the bowels of Maruicci Arena on the University of Minnesota campus, attending a Gophers Women’s Volleyball press conference.

Ultimately, I put together years of thinking on my feet, problem-solving and storytelling to land a job at UnitedHealth Group, where I learned what it takes to create high-touch content for brands, executives and corporations.

LuKi Productions is the culmination of all these skills and experiences, put together to find the best way to serve your brand’s goals and your business’ objectives.
